Grow up to 20-25 cm Because of its coloration and coexistence is considered one of the most interesting for aquarium cichlids. Keep can be a pair, harem, in a common aquarium perfectly coexist with Malawian and Tanganyikskih cichlids. By its composition, the water in Lake Nicaragua is very close to the Great African Lakes, so Nicaraguan cichlazom can be combined with non-aggressive African cichlids, as well as representatives of the family Melanotenyovyh. They are known to help in protecting eggs and larvae of other species of cichlases.
